In a bizarre partnership that defies usual predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Disclosed

According to the official release, "A mysterious confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of banned ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret group.

The mission centers on "peculiar tests and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Changes

The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a striking moment showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Extra Material

Players who finish the mission will obtain an exclusive katana together with several objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Third Free Story Content

This update also introduces the game's third no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
