The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Party

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, demons, and dark forces growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table includes Teor (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

The Reason for Division

Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.

What Defines the Combat Party

Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.

At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.

Motivations for Departure

First, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.

Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a secure base in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, wants retribution.
  • The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous place.
  • The strong character and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • But, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the team enter places they normally couldn’t.
  • Additionally, The fighter vowed a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:

  • Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This results in them no alternative but to head to Timmony in quest for the traitor.

Future Episodes

From episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party will be absent next week, leaving the other eight players to round up the Questers and Strategists parties.

Fans can expect discovering which characters will be in which group in the story’s last Overture episode, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
